Installation of Material Hoist

We have summarized some useful information about the safe installation of material hoist for you to acquire a further understanding about this equipment and use it properly and safely.

Examine Before Installation

  1. The metal structure is in set without any defect.
  2. The lifting mechanism is complete and in good condition.
  3. All parts of electrical equipment are in position and reliable.
  4. The basic operation is in accordance with regulations.
  5. The ground anchor is fastened and located properly.
  6. The material hoist and the steel cable are both in appropriate position, and no obstacle is found in the working space.

Installation Accuracy

  1. The gap between suspended cage and guide rail should be limited within 5-10mm.
  2. The misplacement of guide rail contact section should be less than 1.5mm.
  3. The length tolerance of the two diagonals of material hoist shall be strictly limited with no more than 3% of nominal size of the longest side length.

Frame Installation

  1. Whenever two mast sections (less than 8m) are set up, the operator should reinforce them by temporary supporter or steel cable and implement preliminary correction. Not until the mast sections are confirmed stable shall the installation continues.
  2. The two upright columns should be constructed alternatively, that is, whenever 2 mast sections are installed, the other column should be built to the same height and connected laterally with its neighbor column.
  3. The bolts of every junction must be fastened and the size must match the bore diameter. Expanding or opening of bores is strictly prohibited. More importantly, no bolt should be missed or replaced by iron wire.
  4. Before removing the cable wind rope or auxiliary support frame, temporary cable wind rope or support should be settled to retain the free height of the frame within less than two mast sections (shorter than 8m).
  5. When the roof beam is about to be dismantled, the two upright columns should be reinforced first to guarantee sufficient stability.
  6. During the dismounting process, operators mustn’t throw any component downward.
  7. If the frame has to be dismantled at night, a fine and effective lighting system is required.

Windlass Installation

  1. The windlass should be fixed at a flat and solid position with no block in sight and far from dangerous region. If a windlass has to be located near the construction area, a safe and dependable protective roof should be mounted on the operation shed.
  2. The ground anchor is required to be fastened and secure.
  3. When the steel wire rope locates in the middle of winding drum, the leading sheave under the frame should be perpendicular with the axis of winding drum. Otherwise, an auxiliary guiding wheel must be settled to correct it.
  4. Make sure the hoisting rope is suspended during working to prevent from blocking by obstacles, dragging on the ground or soaking in the water.
